David Vincent, our DISC presenter was State Manager of the world-renowned Dale Carnegie Training Organisation and a founder member of the National Speakers Association. He has played a prominent role in the training and development industry in Australia since 1983 … this continues today through his company ”Break Through Training.” He is also a qualified practitioner in DISC Behavioral Profiling.

The Australia women’s national field hockey team (nicknamed the Hockeyroos) are Australia‘s national women’s field hockey team. Having played their first game in 1914, they are one of Australia’s most successful sporting teams, boasting three Olympic Gold Medals from the past six Games as well as winning two World Cups (1994, 1998) and three Commonwealth Games Gold Medals (1998, 2006, 2010). The Hockeyroos have been crowned Australia’s Team of the Year five times and were unanimously awarded Best Australian Team at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.

A notable part of the Hockeyroos colourful history has involved Ric Charlesworth. Charlesworth was at the helm of the Hockeyroos from 1993 to 2000, where his reign as coach saw the team win the 1993, 1995, 1997 and 1999 Champions Trophies, 1994 and 1998 World Cups and the 1998 Commonwealth Games. Charlesworth took the Hockeyroos to the Atlanta and Sydney Olympic Games where the team won back-to-back gold medals. Given the extent of the Hockeyroos success, the team has consistently remained at the top of the world hockey rankings.

From the late 1980s until 2000, the Australian team was ranked at number 1 in the world. Only once during this period, did the Hockeyroos fail to win a tournament, when they finished second. .

Nikki will be speaking about her experiences at the elite level of sport and the many years of success she had under the guidance of Ric Charlesworth.   From 1993 to 2000 Ric Charlesworth was head coach of the Australian Women’s hockey team, the Hockeyroos. During this time they won the Champion’s Trophy in 1993 (Amsterdam), 1995 (Mar del Plata), 1997 (Berlin) and 1999 (Brisbane), the World Hockey Cup in 1994 (Dublin) and 1998 (Netherlands) and were Gold Medalists in the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 and Sydney Olympics in 2000 and 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur.

Kristian Porthill entered his first bodybuilding competition in 2003, as a novice and eventually won his first National Title 10 shows and 3 years later. In 2009 he won the Mr International, Mr Australia,Mr Southern Hemisphere, Mr World and Mr Universe.

The following year he was inducted into the Australian Hall of fame as Bodybuilding Legend. He has continued his winning streak with 7 shows in a row.

Kristian, AKA “the Viking”, was born in Norway and relocated to Australia in 1982. He wasn’t a very sporty child and was actually overweight and unpopular in his youth. It wasn’t until he began to lift weights that he started to take control of his life. It taught him discipline, consistency and commitment.

In 2003, at the age of 25 he began his competition journey which ultimately led to becoming the best in the world, twice.Respected and admired for his work ethic and indomitable self-belief, he has become one of Australia’s leading physique and fitness consultants, writing for magazines and working with contestants from Australia’s Biggest Loser.

He has been presenting for over 7 years working as a senior presenter with the Australian Institute of Fitness and more recently with the Australian Institute of Personal Trainers.Kristian is a gifted speaker who delivers seminars, workshops and keynote addresses on topics including personal success, the importance of self-discipline, setting and achieving goals and never giving up.
